- Registered parishioners may request to schedule a baptism by completing the form below at least 6 weeks prior to event date. Baptisms are conducted on Saturdays (except for Liturgical holidays) as follows: after 5 PM Saturday Vigil Masses and after the 8 AM first Saturday devotional Masses.

- Families must select a godfather and/or godmother to assist in raising the child in the faith. Potential Godparents must meet the following Canon Law requirements:
  
  Be a practicing Roman Catholic.
  
  Be sixteen (16) years of age or older.
  
  Must be a confirmed Catholic. A baptized non-Catholic Christian may stand as a Christian witness along with a confirmed Catholic.
  
  If married, the potential godparent needs to be in a valid Sacramental marriage in the Catholic Church. This can be proved with an updated copy of the person’s Baptismal certificate (which can be obtained at the church of their Baptism); the godparents are asked to provide this document to the Parish Office.
  
  A Catholic in an invalid marriage (civil marriage instead of Sacramental marriage in the Catholic Church) cannot be a godparent.
  
  A cohabiting (living with someone) Catholic who is not married cannot be a godparent.

Next steps:

1) St. Thomas Staff will be in touch soon to confirm the Baptism date.

2) Once the Baptism date has been confirmed:

a) Send a copy of the child's Birth Certificate via email to [email protected].

b) Send a copy of Baptismal Certificates for each Godparent. (The sacrament of Confirmation musted noted on respective certificates.) Can be mailed to P.O. Box 2051, Thibodaux, LA 70310 or emailed to [email protected]

c) Submit the Baptismal Questionnaire for each Godparent via email to [email protected].

d) Godparents must also complete the video preparation series on FORMED.
